I... I... I... I... :?
Documentary about the 'home' of the Twilight series.

I think if my name was Bella and I lived in Forks, Washington, I'd sue Stephanie Myers. And then change my name. And then sue Stephanie Myers again. And then change my name again. To '**** You Stephanie Myers, You Crazy Repressed *****'

I believe I've mentioned that my name elicits a lot of comment from tweens when I pay by credit card.

I don't look at all like Robert Pattinson, but I do have a heavy cro-magnon brow. It's easy to see how they might be confused.

And come to think of it, I've never seen you in direct sunlight, so for all I know, it's entirely possible that you sparkle.

If this means there will never be a Sparkly Vampire Grarrl, I am all for it.

Ah well. At least he isn't sparkly.

You're telling me you'd be upset if you found out that for the last three months your Grarrl had been watching you sleep?

I think Tim is self-aware enough to know this meant that the Grarrl really loved him, and that True Love Waits. In the dark. Staring.

Watching.

I'd repaint him so that he was glowing, and therefore unable to sneak up on me.

That always follows you!
He's got some pretty scales!
Always sparkling!"

All About Steve is the new Gigli.

I had absolutely no interest in this romcom until the uniformly horrifying reviews started filtering in; now, I'm downright amped. Those pictures of Sandra Bullock in ugly red hooker-boots and what appears to be a blonde bath-mat on her head - well, gosh darn it, they make me believe in the power of Cinema again.

Shame - if they're closing the Hong Kong office that presumably means they'll be wrapping up the Dragon Dynasty label. Bey Logan and Brian White may regret abandoning Hong Kong Legends for fat Hollywood $$$ after all.

If you want some help creating a schedule for Toronto, check out:

http://genius.indiewire.com/toronto/

and if you have an industry badge, try:

http://genius.indiewire.com/torontopi/

You can build a schedule, automatically fix conflicts, and then export the schedule to a .ics file.

The Toronto FilmFest has a pretty interesting lineup this year...I want to say "more mainstream" but I'm not 100% sure if it is. A partial list of what I'm going to try and see:

The Informant! (Matt Damon in a Stephen Soderbergh parody of corporate whistleblower movies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0hxi-z3ZZBI)

The Men Who Stare At Goats (George Clooney, Ewan MacGregor, Jeff Bridges in Kevin Spacey in a movie about the CIA's secret psychic-training program. It's a comedy. http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/themenwhostareatgoats/)

The Hole (New Joe Dante movie!!!)

A Serious Man (New Coen Brothers Movie!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iggyFPls4w)

Up In The Air (Clooney again, same director as "Thank You For Smoking" and "Juno")

Capitalism: A Love Story (Michael Moore's newest)

The Road (Post-apocalypse with Viggo Mortensen)

Whip It (Roller derby movie with Ellen Page, directed by Drew Barrymore (!))

Agora (Alejandro Amenabar movie about Ptolemaic Egypt, with Rachel Weisz. http://agora-movie-trailer.blogspot.com/)

The Invention of Lying (Ricky Gervais movie about a world where no one lies, supposedly really funny. http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/theinventionoflying/)

The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus (New Terry Gilliam movie, as I'm sure we all know)

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (Nicholas Cage's soul is still dancing)

Jennifer's Body (Possibly terrible Megan Fox high school horror movie written by Diablo Cody)

Solomon Kane (adaptation of the Robert E Howard character, hopefully better than "Van Helsing")

Survival of the Dead (Romero)

Daybreakers (Ethan Hawke and Willem Dafoe, environmental vampire movie? http://www.apple.com/trailers/lions_gate/daybreakers/)

Ong Bak 2 (Nuff Said)
