I refuse to believe that is an actual costume test that they were going to actually put on the screen. That's a candid of Cage taken at a drunken Halloween party in '92 right?

And we're positive those aren't photoshopped, right? Because I really, really, REALLY want them to be real. If they're not, it'll be like finding out there's no Santa all over again.

So who's getting the 5-disc, 4-hour ultimate cut of Watchmen?

I bet it's only that long because this cut has EVERY scene shot in slow-mo.

Director Justin Lin (Fast and the Furious) has been hired to helm Summit Entertainments remake of Highlander.
Quote:
Summit’s film will expand on the original film’s core mythology of immortals battling amongst us, hunting each other through the ages by tapping its newly minted creative team to take its re-imagination to new heights. Plans call for the re-imagination to spur a new franchise for the studio.
I just hope the Immortals sparkle.

And in news that doesn't make me sad...Bryan Singer is going to direct Jack the Giant Killer. :D

That's a remake I can definitely get behind. The version from the 60's should have been so much better than it was.

I posted that pic on livejournal and got one of the best comments ever:

Who's remaking David Cronenberg's classic redo of The Fly: David Cronenberg?!

I don't know if you knew this about David Cronenberg or not, but over the last twenty-five years of his career (in film, TV, opera and as a cultural commentator) he just really wanted to go back and make Jeff Goldblum's face fall off.

The original movie will remain the same. A new movie won't screw that up. I figure if Cronenberg has a notion to re-make one of his indisputable masterpieces, he has an idea to make it, somehow, new.

It's Cronenberg. Of all people, I think he's earned some leeway.
