Go easy on me. It's my first review, I don't understand Turkish so I can't decipher the plot, and I had to take notes during this.
If you've never heard of this before, Spider Man is in fact evil and likes statues so he runs around stealing statues from people's houses in Istanbul. Captain America and Santo (not the real Santo) come in to stop him.
First of all, I love it in comic books when super heroes fight out of costume. It's a rare occasion when a super hero is caught without his costume and has to fight in his street clothes to somewhat of an disadvantage. Whether his costume was aerodynamic or weather proof, he'd much rather have it, so it's kind of more dramatic to be caught out of costume and in a rough situation.
As for super hero movies, I never want to see them out of their costumes and fighting. I want them in their cheesy costumes 24/7 kicking bad guy ass. Sure, that bad Captain America movie was terribly plot heavy but the 5 minutes Captain America IS in his costume I love.
So it kind of dissapoints me that a lot of action is done out of costume in this movie. Sure, there's a lot of action, but who are these guys? Santo is not santo, so it's kind of pointless to see him fight out of costume. Santo and America do have costumes but they probably only fight in them twice. Dissapointing to me at least. I had to pretend it was these guys fighting out of costume! Speaking of pretending, I made up my own plot along the way, like Spider man's girlfriend is in fact an evil Mary Jane.
Here's what I got from this movie.
Due to a lack of buildings, Spider Man drives away a lot. Heck, he drives even when there are buildings around.
The neck of Captain America's mask flaps around like when he is running or hanging off of car doors.
Santo = not a wrestler and not Santo. Costume is k though.
Spider Man can climb... gutter pipes. :cheesy:
Blind men hang around docks.
Santo must be strapped for cash because when takes his first guy down, he check his wallet for cash moneys.
Guinea pigs are flesh eating.
Spider Man can only go less than a minute in bed .:o
Captain America likes hanging from the ceiling a lot.
Captain America in costume vs. Spider Man = Awesome! Totally awesome!
Lastly, Spider Man looks a little like this:
Also, when America and Santo are in costume, they can beat a whole bunch of Spider men clones, but take them out of their costumes and they are beaten by a few henchmen. That's why you shouldn't take them out of their costumes ;)
There are some great moments and such, like when Captain America defeats Spider Man only to immediatly see ANOTHER one and then another one! After awhile, Santo finally quits slacking off and finishes off 1 spider man and stares quite puzzled at the Spider Men Captain America had to dispatch by himself. That's right, Santo... while you were fighting a dopey Spider Man clone, Cappy was knocking dopey spider man clones down like dopey spider men clones!
My favorite scene is when Santo and America (out of costume) are held prisoner and they start fighting (probably argueing who's fault it is they're caught) only to make the guard go get help. They then get the idea to fake fight to get out of there. Since their "real" fight was fake looking enough to begin with, their fake fighting comes out as the pansiest thing to stike the super hero and mexican wrestling community in years. Definetly an MST3K moment.
The quality is watchable. In the future I will fast forward dialogue scenes and probably just quit watching after the first Captain America/Spider Man fight. It sure is intersting, however, and I am going now to show it off to some friends.
Thanks for reading my slopped together first review. Is there anything you guys wanna know about this?
