Post Night of the lepus.
OK, we all know this one: Research plant in the american southwest is working on a way to control the rabbit population as it eats too much crops (Imagine the noive of those little varmits thinking they have a right to any food! We'll shows em! Harummph!) and ends up creating a mutation that leads to giant carnivorous rabbits being released, rapidly breeding and killing people until they're stopped.

De Forrest Kelly beamed WAAY down to play in this.

The movies' been ripped and shredded on other sites, but I think I'd like to say a few good things about it.

First off, the people making it really tried to do something with the material they'd been handed. I mean, a lot of modern movie makers, namely the asylum most of all and some others, don't even bother to try. People recite their lines indifferently, the film crew doesn't even attempt to be vaguely consistent, the special effects are whatever comes out of the first rendering pass on a 3d modeller, that's it.

The people here at least tried to take a weak plot and make the most of it. The cast acted, they didn't just recite their lines. The special effects team did the best they could for an early 70's movie. They built miniature sets that at least looked somewhat believable. When a woman was defending herself and her daughter in a stranded RV by throwing road flares at the inbound rabbits, the FX team making the miniature of the RV scene put in a couple small red lights to simulate the flares that had been thrown by the time the miniature shot was called for.

Hell, that's more attention to detail and continuity than a dozen asylum films.

Night of the lepus is a B movie, but at least people put some effort into it, and for that I give it a thumbs up.

It has TWO Starfleet doctors in it. (Bones and the Sherriff)
And yes, It's riff factor is at the top of the scale.
Man, I love this turkey.
