I don't suppose any of you had the presence of mind to tape 13 Women when it came on Turner Classic Movies this morning, did you? It's a very rare and very obscure body-count movie from the 30's, and I wanted it for my ongoing investigation into the prehistory of the slasher film. Naturally, that means I forgot to set my VCR before leaving for work. If anybody caught it, let me know, and we'll see if we can't work out some sort of arrangement.

Ahem.
Not the recent TCM, but an earlier one, grabbed for me. I can get slightly dodgy DVD-R copies made for you (the top of the picture duplicates when we copy NTSC, don't know why), or I can send my tape to one of you to be passed on to the other. Or both. Or either. Just let me know.

What do you mean by, "the top of the picture duplicates?"

Exactly that. You get the picture, but then you also get a bit of the same picture duplicated within the screen. It's annoying, but the copy is still watchable.

Duplicated in the sense of picture looks normal except that the topmost 5% or whatever is repeated above itself (or, heaven forbid, in the middle of the screen somewhere), or duplicated in the sense of the topmost 5% or whatever has a ghost of itself offset slightly to one direction or the other?
