I'm not sure why the Coens are all remake- and adaptation-happy these days, but a western by them would be awesome, full stop.

According to CHUD, Guillermo Del Toro is set to oversee a new branch of Disney animation specifically designed for "Spooky and creepy" animated movies: http://chud.com/articles/articles/20753/1/GUILLERMO-DEL-TORO-DOES-DISNEY/Page1.htmlThat sounds too good to be true.

Guillermo Del Toro wields unreal power. He's helming The Hobbit. Producing everything. Several oscars for Pan's Labyrinth, universally viewed as a great film. (Had a friend 180 on Hobbit when she learned he'd helmed that.) Sweeeeeeeeet.

No. As part of the 'how the Hell do we get people to watch this thing' redesign, the honorary Oscars will from henceforth be given out at a seperate event. I'd expect a 20-second montage presented by Jessica Alba or Megan Fox, like they do with the sci-tech awards. In other news, I guess every other movie ever made must already be out on Blu-Ray.

Roger Corman-that's great. As far as every film being out on Blu-Ray-1upmushroom man, The Big Parade and the Crowd never even made it to DVD. monkeywrench kids and their need for sound.

Cars 2 Plot Details Revealed: Cars remains the one Pixar film that failed to entertain me (that it was pretty much a rehash of Doc Hollywood didn't help) and now we're getting a sequel that is focusing on Larry the Cable Guy's character. "Blech!" So this will be the first Pixar film that I won't bother seeing in the theater.

Re: Movie Grab Bag Eight - ...is MORE than enough
You know, that...that's a much more interesting plot than the first movie. While the basic premise of Cars was never very promising, I'm a big believer in the ability of talented flimmakers to turn around ideas that others have written off...and this is Pixar we're talking about. I remain skeptical, but I'm sure I'll end up seeing this.

Re: Movie Grab Bag Eight - ...is MORE than enough
Really, that plot sounds terrible. Could they turn it around? Yeah, the Pixar magic lives strong; I've seen it in movies since Cars.
But I skipped Cars in theaters and I'll skip this too. I did see Cars eventually and while it wasn't awful, it didn't feel special like most other Pixar films do. In fact, it honestly felt ham-fisted and trite at times.

Re: Movie Grab Bag Eight - ...is MORE than enough
Given that "ham-fisted and trite at times" pretty accurately describes how I felt about Up, you could not pay me anywhere near enough money to consider seeing Cars 2.

I guess after Delta Farce they figure Mr. Whitney is just huge box office gold.
