Update 3/9/04, 2:40 p.m.: The message board has been operating steadily since the move.

Update 11/17/03, 3:40 p.m.: The move is done and changes have been made. Come check out the spiffy new features on our new server.

Update 11/17/03, 10:00 a.m.: The server move has begun. The board software has been installed on the new server and I'm packing up the message and member databases from the old server now.

Update 11/17/03, 7:30 a.m.: Westhost seems to have fixed the problem again. I'll be moving the board today; expect to get the "maintenance" message later this morning.

Update 11/16/03, 5:30 p.m.: After three days of smooth running, the board is offline again. This time I know it's not my fault; it's likely the same Perl script problem. I'm opening a trouble ticket with Westhost now.

Update 11/13/03, 5:30 p.m.: I've pruned some messages and brought the board back online. It should be up for the majority of the weekend before we begin the migration next week.

Update 11/13/03, 4:00 p.m.: Good news! The administators of the hosting system fixed whatever the problem was, and the board appears to be working normally again. However, I have it offline to prune some of the older messages and bring our message count down somewhat before I export the message and member database. I will probably bring it back up later tonight for you to use, and I will begin the migration process this weekend, to be completed sometime in the coming week. (I'll probably take the board down on Monday to do the backups and then migrate it Monday night or Tuesday.)

In the meantime, this page will serve as the official point of information for the board; if the board itself isn't working or the badmoviezone.com address doesn't take you where you want to go, check on this page. (Go ahead, bookmark it now.)

Update 11/13/03, 11:00 a.m.: I have been able to determine that the board went down because all perl scripts on our account have mysteriously stopped working. Since I changed nothing, I can only assume that something about our host changed and that they will be able to fix it whenever they get around to my support request. I am hopeful that we'll get the board working again, and that we'll be able to restore it to its former working condition.

In the meantime, I will be setting up a temporary bulletin board on the new server space I have purchased with another host. I will initiate the change of DNS servers on Friday evening, at which time badmoviezone.com will no longer forward to this page. Your local DNS servers should catch up with the change over the weekend, at which time you will be able to access the temporary bulletin board.

My plan is to get the board working again on its current server, then to export the message and member databases and import them onto a new board at the new location.
